Anyone currently involved in participation work with children and young people, who is interested in finding out more about how to work successfully with children and young people from various
faiths and cultures.

This training course offers participants the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills in working successfully with children and young people from various faiths and cultures.

Information about the course:

This new, innovative one-day training course is based on the popular resource ‘How to Work Successfully with Children and Young People from Various Faiths and Cultures’. The training day
will look at how children and young people’s faiths and cultures can impact on participation work.

Participants will also learn practical tips on how to ensure that a diverse range of children and young people are engaged and made to feel safe and comfortable participating within organisations. The training course will also look at definitions of diversity as well as how to develop meaningful and effective diversity policies and procedures in partnership with children and young people.

Learning outcomes:

By the end of course delegates will have:

  • Understand faith through culture and identity and its potential influence on the development of young people.
  • Explore ways of working with young people that reduce barriers to participation
  • Understand diversity.
  • Plan for the delivery of inclusive practice.
