South West Network

The South West Participation Workers Network is supported by the Regional Youth Work Unit based at Learning South West and brings together workers from Cornwall up to Gloucester. Meeting every six weeks, the network shares good practice, information on regional and national developments and opportunities for collaboration.

Previous work of the network has included training for members on working with young people with learning disabilities and how to involve young people in recruitment and selection. Also organising south west wide participation events for young people.

With the additional Participation Works funding, the Regional Youth Work Unit has been able to offer a wider range of training opportunities to members. They are also working together with the South West Voluntary Youth Sector Network. Further network meetings, training and other events are planned for the year.
